1. What are cookies?
Cookies are tiny text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things like what’s in your cart or how many people dropped by. Some cookies disappear when you close your browser (session cookies); others stick around for a while (persistent cookies).
2. Why we use them
Category | Purpose | Typical lifespan | Example cookies* |
---|---|---|---|
Strictly necessary | Keep the site running—cart contents, checkout flow, log-in security. | Session / up to 2 days | woocommerce_cart_hash , wp_woocommerce_session_* |
Preferences | Remember choices like currency or banner dismissal so you don’t have to click twice. | Up to 1 year | mawdle3d_currency , cookie_notice_accepted |
Analytics | Count visitors and spot broken pages. We use a privacy-friendly platform (Fathom) that stores no personal identifiers. | 30 minutes to 24 hours | _fathom |
Payment | Set by our payment partners (PayPal, Stripe) to stop fraud and process transactions. | Varies—controlled by the provider | paypal-checkout-session , __stripe_mid |
*Names may change as the platform updates, but the categories and purposes stay the same.
We do not serve advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies.

4. Third-party cookies
When you pay with PayPal, Stripe or (soon) Bitcoin, you’re taken to a secure checkout they control. Those services may place their own cookies; their policies apply. We do not have access to, or control over, those cookies.
5. Updates to this policy
Cookie use can change if we add new site features. We’ll update this page and tweak the banner as needed. Check back occasionally—new version = new date at the top.
